The First of the Search from The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Been drawing this stuff too much lately.

Definitely keeping the Norse/Viking influences in the designs concerning her culture, since the author clearly has drawn his inspiration from the Jötnar/Hrímthursar; they even have names like "Rime" (Hrím) and "Frost-" in the later volumes. TF strongly reminds me of Jötnar like Járnsaxa ('Iron-Seax').

Her sword is inspired by a Viking-age blade found in a Finnish warrior woman's grave. It belongs to one of the most beautiful prehistoric swords found in Finland.

jep olen tuon väistimen ja pommen meinannut hommata replicana itselleni ja muokata vanhemmasta viikinkimiekastani USA sta löyty hyvä paikka missä kohtuuhintaisia ja hyvälaatuisia tekeleitä. [link] sivulla vaikka mitä mahtavaa ainut hankaluus oli tullin kanssa,kun tilasin vaimolle kupurarintasoljet yms. mutta siitäkin selvittiin.

Olen kyttäillyt aikaisemminkin tuota kauppaa ja tuumaillut, että joskus pitäisi jotain sieltä tilata... osaisipa vaan väkertää miekan, niin eiköhän nuo Suontaan vempeleet tulisi väkisinkin hankittua. :)

Kävin Hattulassa viime viikonloppuna (Suontaka siinä lähistöllä) ja siellä joku kertoi, että muistakin naisten haudoista on miekkoja tavattu Suomessa. Olisikohan ollut Kalvola yksi niistä paikoista, tosin en yhtään tiedä, että minkänäköinen ase sieltä on löytynyt.

mies oli tutkinut 2008 yli 70 suomesta löytynyttä miekkaa,joka oli vain kolmannes kaikista löytyneistä.. ja loistomiekkoja on suomessa ollut yllättävän paljon.

Well, I wouldn't really know what's 'overweight' concerning her species. But when I conjure up a mental image of a woman about 11,5ft tall, carrying heavy stone armor, and described as 'brawny' in the book, I can't see her filling the measurements of the stereotypical contemporary fantasy warrioress (and personally I don't like it much either). Rather, my impression follows the early 20th century Valkyrie model [link] and adds about 5-6ft more height to that.

Haha, thanks, just attempting to stay canon. XD I don't recall it word to word, but it was described that her frown had the sharpness of a whetted sword edge, or something along those lines. Not very amiable.
