I love how there doesn't exist a proper expression in English for fall colors. It's tunturi != mountain all over again.

Sometimes English does seem a bit fail. It wouldn't be quite so bad, but all the really good words no one bothers to learn. Like 'ichor'. I love the word 'ichor.' But no one wants to learn or invent descriptive nouns these days.

Ruska. It's related to the word ruskea which means 'brown', originally 'ruddy'. I've occasionally used 'browning' or 'reddening' as alternatives while talking about it in English.
